Support for Community Organizations During COVID-19

United Way of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta, together with support from local donors, is providing support to community agencies dedicated to keeping the people of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta safe and well during this public health crisis.
The General COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund will support five projects addressing the needs of vulnerable people in south western Alberta communities.

UNITED WAY OF LETHBRIDGE & SOUTH WESTERN ALBERTA GENERAL COVID-19 RELIEF & RECOVERY FUNDING INVESTMENTS
Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta – $9,680.60 to support enhanced food security for vulnerable families through the Interfaith Chinook Country Kitchen, and to purchase PPE for safe re-opening as in-person programs resume.
Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge – $4,080 for organizational support and training resources to ensure uninterrupted access to food hamper services, and purchase of PPE to ensure volunteer safety.
Pincher Creek Community Food Bank – $8,000 to support food hamper services and emergency food access for people and families in the Pincher Creek area.Β 
Streets Alive Family Support Association – $13,224.64 to support outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, provide referrals to support services, access to food, water and basic hygiene supplies, transportation to shelter and intox services if necessary.
Volunteer Lethbridge – $10,000 to support wellness checks for community members who may feel disconnected or isolated. Trained volunteers connect by telephone on a regular basis to ensure residents have access to support resources and information. A partnership with CMHA and LPIRG.

The COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund has been made possible through donations from partners including Alberta Blue Cross, ATB Financial, Heaven Hill Brands, the Max Bell Foundation, Scotiabank, The Co-Operators Bridge Insurance, Canadian Tire Ltd., Wawanesa Insurance, and from many individuals throughout the community.
