Safe Haven Women's Shelter Society

Summer Day Camp Program

  • The Summer Day Camp takes place in Taber and is for children who have experienced or witnessed family violence, have been affected by bullying, children who come from families who identify as low income, or who are facing social difficulties. The camp will provide support for participants to develop positive social relationships with both their peers and summer camp counsellors. Our program will enable children and youth to participate in various field trips for recreational, cultural, social, and civic activities within our service area.

Safe Haven Women’s Shelter Society is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping women and children in crisis. Safe Haven strives to end the cycle of abuse through the delivery of inclusive, non-judgmental support services to individuals, families and communities. The goal is to provide a safe place for women and children in an effort to end domestic violence and abuse. From a trauma-informed approach, we use a community-based response to bring together health, education, criminal justice, law enforcement, and community agencies in providing direct services.

Services offered by Safe Haven are free, voluntary, and non-judgmental. Safe Haven provides services in seven different ways: Emergency Shelter Services, 24 hour Crisis line, Emergency Shelter Child Support, Summer Day Camp, Adopt-A-Family, Safe Families Intervention Team Taber, and Community Outreach/Intensive Case Management.
